Our Little Model

We needed a model for one of our owls, and thankfully this little sweetie was ready to step-up and help us out!

I hope you like this little owl, and we look forward to having many more at our booth this summer for you to see!

As far as our model goes, please pray for Abby. She was recently diagnosed with cancer, and has a long road of recovery ahead. She is constantly in our thoughts, and we pray for the Lord to heal her body of this sickness.

If you'd like more details to better pray for Abby and her family, you can find more here: http://www.caringbridge.org/abbyfollen

Reduce, Reuse, Recycle

We have had a box of my grandpa's old neckties down in the basement for months, and yesterday I finally got the urge to make something out of them! I found this super cool tutorials for zippered pouches here, and decided to try it! I love the results, and can't wait to make more!

First comes the "deconstruction" stage...

Then you add interfacing and batting...

Next you sew on the old tie tags (I love the character they add!), and ends on the zippers.

This little one is almost finished - I just have to sew the side seams...

The final result!

Then I made a larger pouch out of two bigger ties!

Like I said, I love how they turned out, and I can't wait to make more for a fun new addition to our booth this summer!

More Time For Sewing!

Since we've been experiencing some extremely cold temperatures lately, we were able to spend more time at home sewing. See? There's always a silver lining.

Mom was able to get out her gorgeous old Singer machine and use it after finally figuring out how to thread it (YouTube, you're a life-saver).

And I worked on some more keyring pouches while watching Sherlock... I love my life. =]
